The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
WIC provides federal grants to states for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritional risk.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
TANF is a federal program that provides grant funds to states and territories to provide families with financial assistance and related support services, including breastfeeding, for those in need. State-administered programs may include financial support, childcare assistance, job preparation, and work assistance
